A graveside funeral service for Bertha Dihel, age 88, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Eastlawn Memorial Park with Bill Slaymaker officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening at Heartland Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 pm.

Mrs. Dihel passed from this life on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.

Bertha Foster Dihel was born on July 16, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Oscar Ray and Ely (Green) Foster.  Bertha mostly worked as a sitter for the elderly.  She enjoyed playing cards, yard work, dancing and her “babies” Pretty Girl, Pumpkin, and Shorty.  She attended the Cowboy Church and The Early Church.

Bertha is survived by her daughter, Delores Woods and husband Otis of Early; a son Vernon Dihel of Arkansas; two grandchildren, Christina Spencer and Richard Lismen, Jr. and a sister, Dean Foster of Antlers, OK.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Dihel and three sisters and two brothers.
