Brownwood News – The “It’s a Wonderful Life Radio Play” recently completed its run at the Lyric Theatre in Brownwood.  If you missed out on the live show, you can listen to it on KBWD 1380 AM at 7:00 pm on Christmas Eve or on KOXE 101.3 FM at 6:00 pm on Christmas Day.

“It was kind of different for the audience.  It wasn’t a straight play of the classic movie, it was a play of a radio show of the movie,” said Paul Underwood who was a cast member of the show.  Underwood has also taken the audio from the play at the Lyric and added additional sound effects for this special radio presentation.  “I spent the last week punching the whole play up with added sound effects, everything from footsteps to car sounds to door slams to the cold, icy wind that takes place pretty much throughout Act 2.  It’s going to be presented just like you would hear back in the 40’s,” Underwood said.

The play was directed by Billie Harvey.  Brownwood Mayor, Stephen Haynes, stars as George Bailey while Keren Myers stars as Mary.

Tune in to KBWD on Christmas Eve at 7:00 pm or KOXE on Christmas day at 6:00 pm to enjoy “It’s a Wonderful Life”, a live radio play by Joe Landry.
