Larry Dean Reding, 91, of Brownwood Passed from this life Sunday, December 15, 2019.

A visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Heartland Funeral Home.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 20, 2019 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Miles cemetery at 12:30 PM that same day.

Larry was born April, 16, 1928 in Conroe to Elmer and Inez Reding.  He attended school at Conroe and married Sylvia L. Wright on April 8, 1960 in Brady and began a life together that blessed them with 3 children.  Larry and Sylvia moved to Brownwood in 1976.  Larry worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber and retired after 20+ years.  He enjoyed fishing and did a lot of it when he was younger but when he started gardening he lost interest in fishing.  Gardening became his passion and he was good at it.  One year he had 28 tomato plants as tall as any man and Sylvia told him “don’t bring another tomato in this house”.  He took pride in working with his garden and his friends and neighbors appreciated him and the bounty for it.  Larry also raised chickens and loved this hobby as well.  He said he raised chickens for the eggs, although everybody knew that he just enjoyed doing it.  Larry was a family man and his greatest achievement in his eyes was his family.  The time that they spent together was his greatest passion.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Sondra Lambert of DFW; his sons, James Reding of Brownwood, Alan and his wife, Samantha of Eastland; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sylvia Reding.
