Dorothy Maxine (Davis) Boyd, 96, of Early went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, December 17, 2019.

A visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Heartland Funeral Home.

The Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 19, 2019 in the Heartland Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow at Pleasant Valley cemetery, May, Texas.

Dorothy was born June 16, 1923 in the Williams community near May to Thomas Mark and Cora Lee Davis.  She was one of ten children.  Dorothy attended school at Williams and married the love of her life in Blanket on December 31, 1938.  Thurman and Dorothy began a life together that would bless them with three children.  Dorothy spent her life as a homemaker devoted to support and love for her husband and children.  She enjoyed sewing, crochet and making dolls as a hobby.  Thurman and Dorothy took many trips rock hunting.  Lajitas was a favorite vacation spot so they could find topaz and tiger eye rocks.  Thurman had a polishing machine and they would make jewelry for the grandkids.  They owned an antique shop in Brady and she loved hunting for antiques and glassware to sell in her shop.  Her favorite past time was cooking and spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Joylene Epley of May and JoAnn Templeton of Brownwood; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thurman; son, Larry D. Boyd; her parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
