Brownwood Police and Brown County Sheriff’s Report

Brownwood News – The following calls for service were responded to by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department and Brownwood Police Department.

Sheriff’s Department Report Issued on Monday, December 9

On December 3, while on uniformed patrol in a marked Brown County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit, Deputy M. Davis was dispatched to S. State Highway 183 in Zephyr.  This was regarding a reported prior theft of utilities.

On Thursday, December 5, Lt. Pete Bastardo spoke with a woman in regards to receiving a fraudulent check in the mail.  The only money the woman was out was the money she and her husband spent.  She was advised this would be her responsibility in order to pay back the bank.

On December 6, Deputy Toby Mathis assisted in a vehicle pursuit which started in Comanche County.  The pursuit ended at the intersection of Early Parkway in Early, Texas.  Suspects were taken into custody by Comanche SO.

On December 8, at approximately 17:46 hours, while on uniformed patrol in a marked Brown County Sheriff’s Office, patrol unit, Deputy M. Davis along with Deputy T. Mathis were dispatched to a reported domestic disturbance in progress at North U.S. Highway 183 #8 in Early, Texas.

Brownwood Police Department Report Issued on Monday, Dec. 9

On 12/06/2019, Brownwood officers were dispatched to the Brown County Jail in reference to POCS (Possession of Controlled Substance). An arrest was made, a report has been generated.

On Friday December 6, 2019, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Coggin Ave in reference to two individuals passing counterfeit bills at a convenience store. The bills were seized, information was gathered and a report was generated.

On Friday December 6, 2019 at approximately 16:30 hours, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Ave A in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Officers were also notified of a vehicle burglary while on scene. Both vehicles were left unlocked when unattended. Information was gathered on scene and a report was generated.

On Friday, December 6, 2019, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Stewart Street. During the stop, drugs/narcotics were located and the male driver was taken into custody. The male was transported to the Brown County Jail and a report was generated.

On 12-07-19 at 11:53 hrs. Officer Plate was dispatched for a dog at large.  Citation Issued.

On Saturday December 7, 2019, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Commerce in reference to public lewdness. Two individuals were seen engaging in sexual intercourse in a public place. The two individuals were placed into custody and transported to the Brown County Jail.

On Saturday, December 7, 2019 at approximately 17:22 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer responded to the 2100 block of Indian Creek Road in reference to a criminal mischief report. A report has been generated.

On 12-07-19 at 18:35 hrs. Officer Plate received a call from dispatch requesting response to an aggressive pit bull. Citations issued.

On 12/08/2019 Brownwood officers were dispatched to Melwood Ave. in reference to a terroristic threat. A report has been generated.

On Sunday, December 8, 2019 at approximately 19:35 hours, Officer Weaver was dispatched to 401 W Commerce St (Walmart) in reference to theft.  The officer arrived on scene and made contact with Loss Prevention. A theft report was generated.

While on patrol on December 9, 2019, at approximately 02:30 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Elizabeth about a domestic disturbance. Investigation was conducted and handled by separation. A report was made.

On 12/4/2019 at 0900 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 2400 Blk. of Greenway Dr. in reference to a burglary. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.

On 12/04/2019 at approximately 20:07 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Southside Drive for a call of drugs/narcotics. Brownwood Police made a report for possession of a controlled substance.

On December 5, 2019 at approximately 09:56 hours, Officers with Brownwood PD responded to a phone call at the Law Enforcement Center (1050 W. Commerce) in reference to Theft of delivered package. A report was generated.

On 12/05/2019 at approximately 20:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 Block of E. Lee Street for a call of hit and run. Brownwood Police made a report for hit and run.

On Thursday, December 5, 2019, at approximately 21:56 hours, Officer Donahoo was dispatched to the 4200 block Austin Avenue regarding a theft of package from front porch. A report was taken.

On 12/05/2019 at approximately 21:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Fisk Avenue for a call of driving while intoxicated.  Brownwood Police made an arrest for driving while intoxicated.

On Thursday, December 5, 2019, at approximately 23:20 Hrs, Officer Bowman was dispatched to a North Brownwood address in the 400 block of Victoria in reference to a Weapons Offense. Dispatch informed the officer the complainant heard gun shots outside. The complainant also informed dispatch that they could see holes in the house across the street from their house.  Contact was made with the owner of the house and advised of the incident. The owner of the residence later arrived on scene and advised police that she did wish to file charges. A report was generated and completed.
