Gilbert Rodriguez, 62 (Coleman)

Gilbert “Gibby” Rodriguez, age 62, of Coleman, died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at his residence. 

Recital of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street in Coleman.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Street in Coleman.  Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Gilbert was born December 13, 1956 in Odessa, Texas to Esidro Rodriguez and Soila Dela Rosa.  He grew up in Coleman where he attended school.  Gilbert was a contract painter and was excellent at his job.  He enjoyed artwork, playing baseball, and was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan.  Gilbert was a life-long resident of Coleman and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 

He is survived by his mother, Soila Calderon and husband Tomas of Coleman; brothers, Larry Rodriguez of Sacramento, California, Danny T. Calderon of Beaumont; sisters Mary Salazar Rios of Sacramento, California, Sandra Rodriguez of Coleman; nephews, Gino Marks of Coleman, Emilio Salazar of Sacramento, California, Xavier Salazar of Sacramento, California, Michael Zamora of Arlington; nieces, Angelina Marks of Coleman; Henessy Rodriguez of North Dakota, and Spencer Rodriguez of San Francisco, California.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Nunez, Gino Marks, Michael Zamora, Mark Dela Rosa, Emilio Salazar, and Xavier Salazar.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Gilbert to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.
