A graveside funeral service for Susan Timmins, age 75, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Greenleaf Cemetery with Pastor Jay Fraze officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00 at Heartland Funeral Home.

Susan passed from this life on Thursday, October 3, 2019 in Brownwood.

Susan Elizabeth Timmins was born on February 18, 1944 in La Jolla, California to James C. and Ellen (Yantis) Timmins.  She grew up in Brownwood, graduating from Brownwood High School in 1962, after which she attended Columbia College, the University of Texas, and Texas Christian University, receiving a degree in English literature.

After retiring, Susan traveled a good bit.  She loved maps and musicals.  She also had her ear on the pulse of Brownwood, volunteering for the Citizen’s Police and listening to her scanners.

Susan will be joyfully remembered for her love of all things British, her mastery of “Clue” and “Scotland Yard,” and her heart for Jesus.

She is survived by her brother Jay and his wife Kit, a nephew James and his wife Kelly Ann, great-nephew and great-niece, Sam and Lucy Louise and a son Michael.

In lieu of flowers, kindly donate and amount of your choosing to The Ark (2900 Coggin Ave. Suite A, Brownwood, 76801) or to the Salvation Army (403 Lakeway Dr, Brownwood, 76801)

This is a celebration.  Please consider wearing bright colors.

“Thanks be to God who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”
