Brownwood News – The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a pickup fire Monday afternoon at 1106 10th Street.
According to Fire Marshal/Interim Fire Chief, Buddy Preston, a cousin was working on the owner’s pickup. The truck backfired and caught fire, burning the man’s left leg. He was taken to the Emergency Room of Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment. The structure next to the pickup was slightly damaged by radiant heat.
