Brown Co. Sheriff’s Department Report

Brownwood News – The following calls for service were responded to by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

On September 9, a Deputy spoke to a woman on the phone. This was about her wanting to pursue theft charges against a man for failing to render services he had promised to do on the woman’s property in Zephyr. The Deputy had previously spoken to the woman on July 31, 2019 who, at the time, did not want to pursue charges. A report was made.

On September 10, at approximately 20:23 hours, a Corporal responded to North US Highway 183 for a warrant service. The officer contacted a man who was subsequently arrested for 3 warrants out of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Possession of Controlled Substance PG1<1gram and Resisting Arrest, Search or Transportation. He was transported to the Brown County Jail and released to jail staff. The controlled substance weighed 0.3 grams with packaging.

On Wednesday, September 11, at 13:08 hours, a Deputy was dispatched to CR 291. This was in regards to a down fence near this property. Upon arrival to the area, the Deputy located a fence that had been struck by a vehicle. The owner of the property was identified. After further investigation a report was taken.

Upon arrival to the area, the Deputy located a fence that had been struck by a vehicle. The Deputy located a Haier window air-conditioner unit near the damaged fence. A found property report was taken.

On Thursday, September 12, at 10:48 hours, a Deputy and Lieutenant were dispatched to North U.S. Highway 183 in regards to an assault not in progress. Upon arrival, one of the deputies spoke with a man who said he had been assaulted by another man. After further investigation, both parties were separated and a report was made for the assault.
