Billy Joe Chrane, 89, of Brownwood left his earthly home and went to be with his Lord in Heaven on August 25, 2019.

A visitation for friends and family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home, Friday, August 30, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM.

Billy Joe was born May 18, 1930 in Brownwood to Tom and Georgia Lee Chrane.  On January 11, 1947 he married his beautiful sweetheart, Mary Frances O’Neal.  God blessed them with 70 years of marriage and six children.  Billy Joe had a successful career as a carpenter building many beautiful homes, medical clinics & remodeling jobs till he retired at age 72.  He was an avid fisherman, spending as much time that he could camping out, baiting hooks for the “huge” catfish, crappie, channel cat and others that would bite his bait.  He also enjoyed watching football games, especially the Cowboys!  He also enjoyed playing a little dominoes now & then.

Billy Joe is survived by his five children, Connie and husband Jerry Roberts, Kathy and husband Charlie Hobbs, Caryl and husband Terry Johnson, Terri and husband Billy Strength, Daryl Chrane all of this area; a sister-in-law, Joyce Fletcher; and a daughter-in-law, Connie Chrane; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great & great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews & friends.

Billy Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary; his parents; son, Thomas Chrane; son-in-law, Lynn Rudloff; sisters, Audrey Burten, Jean Littlefield, Betty Nell Honkamp, Iris Edwards; brother, Junior Chrane; and a grandson Stephen Chrane.

The family wants to express their appreciation to Dr. Roy Byrd, Dr. David Morales, Solaris Hospice and the 4th floor nursing staff at BRMC for the excellent care and friendship extended to their father in his time of need.
