Brownwood News – The City of Comanche has been cleared to resume normal water use, consumption and activities effective immediately. The following statement was released at 11:15 am Friday, August 23, from the Office of Comanche County Emergency Management.

THE CITY OF COMANCHE WATER HAS BEEN CLEARED***RESUME NORMAL WATER USE/CONSUMPTION/ACTIVITIES‼️‼️‼️

Thank you all for your patience and compliance during this water crisis. In order to return to normal operations:

*Please let your faucets run a few minutes to flush your lines—we are advised you may notice sediment in your water for a week or so. We are told this is completely normal at this time. Also, you might see City of Comanche officials opening fire hydrants and flushing water lines around town. Do not be alarmed.

*You do NOT have to boil your City water for consumption.

*You may flush your toilets in a normal manner.

*Showers and laundry can go back to normal.

*Resume watering your lawns.

*City of Comanche Pool will be releasing their updated hours soon.

OPERATION “PAY IT FORWARD”/“CLEAR THE SQUARE”:

1. WATER—The water that has been donated to us for distribution will be forwarded on to those in need. A plan is already in place for this distribution.

2. ICE—Again, we will “pay it forward.” A plan is already in place to distribute the remaining Ice to those in need.

3. PORTABLE RESTROOM FACILITIES—they’re outta here! (As soon as they can be picked up!).

4. SHOWERS—the FBC mobile shower unit will no longer be available.

5. LAUNDRY—the FBC mobile laundry unit will no longer be available.

If you have any further questions, please call 325-356-3074.

Again, thank you all for your patience and compliance during this water crisis.
