Brown County Sheriff’s Department Report

Brownwood News – The following calls were responded to recently by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

On August 16, at about 09:15 hours, a Deputy arrived at a ranch located on County Road 189 in Brownwood. This was in regards to illegal dumping. The Deputy observed someone had dumped a refrigerator, small AC window unit, wooden shelf and 55 gallon metal barrel. A report was taken.

On Friday, August 16, a Lieutenant was dispatched to County Road 129 in regards to credit card abuse. Contact was made with a man who advised his Valero gas card had been used without his authority. A report was taken from the man and there are no suspects to list.

On August 16, at about 10:26 hours, a Deputy arrived at Highway 183 North in Brownwood. This was in regards to a hit and run. The Deputy spoke with a man who stated someone had hit his mailbox with their vehicle last night. A report was made.

On August 18, at approximately 01:44 hours, a Corporal contacted a man in the 3500 block of Lindley Street. The man was subsequently arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1>1g<4g in a Drug Free Zone. He was taken to the Brown County Jail where he was released to jail staff. The suspected methamphetamine was weighed with packaging, to wit: 3.7 grams.

On Thursday, August 15, at approximately 15:46, a Deputy met with the complainant about some problems with the suspect. A trespass warning was then issued to the suspect for an address in the 600 block of County Road 233.

On August 15, at about 09:09 hours, a Deputy met with an Officer with the Early Police Department. This was in regards to an animal bite. The Officer told the Deputy a man had been bitten by a feral cat which was fighting with his dog on Wild Tree Lane in Early.
