Brownwood News – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Brownwood District held their annual “Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day,” Tuesday, July 30th.  The theme for this year was “Workforce Development for All.” Activities at these events detailed how our youth, girls and boys alike, can impact the future workplace.

Staff at TxDOT offices across the state helped educate attendees regarding safety gear, showed them equipment used in road building and maintenance, along with other fun activities.  Participants at most events were 8-14 years of age.

TxDOT is privileged with the opportunity to educate and share information regarding its many functions and opportunities through this event. Our mission each year is to empower the attendees as individuals and inspire them toward future careers.
