Brown County Sheriff Department Report – Monday, July 22

Brownwood News – Several reports were included in the Monday report from the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

On July 19, a deputy responded to the 2700 block of West Main Blvd, near the Spruce Street intersection, for a report of a vehicle hitting a fence.  The caller was unsure when the accident occurred but no vehicle was present.  The deputy met with the property owner and gathered information for a report.

On July 18, a deputy responded to Stanley Lane in Brownwood for a report of a missing elderly man.  A man, who has been diagnosed with dementia, had left a residence.  Deputies checked the area around the residence as well as several locations in and around Brownwood.  A reckless driver was called in on Highway 377 south that matched the description of the vehicle the man was in.  Deputies located the vehicle and the driver was identified as the missing man.  He was transported by ambulance for a medical checkup due to the nature of the call.

On July 19, a deputy performed a traffic stop in the 3400 block of Highway 279 for speeding.  While making contact with the driver, the deputy noticed the odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle.  After investigation, the driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  A citation was also given to a juvenile passenger for Minor in Consumption.  A report has been taken.

On July 19, at approximately 23:57, a deputy was dispatched to 1050 W. Commerce.  This was in regards to an assault which occurred between inmates.  A report was made.

On July 21, at about 09:49 hours, a deputy arrived at Waterford Drive in Brownwood in regards to a missing person.  The deputy spoke to a woman who stated she had been unable to contact her son since Friday.  She wanted to report her son as a missing person.

On Saturday, July 20, a deputy responded to an address on County Road 261 in reference to 5 estray cattle from the property from the night before.

On July 21, at approximately 21:45 hours, a deputy responded to Waterford Drive for an assault report.  The incident is still being investigated.

On July 22, at approximately 02:06 hours, a Corporal of the Brown County S.O. observed a suspicious vehicle parked at County Road 212 and South U.S. 377.  The woman was subsequently arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1<1 gram.  She was transported to the Brown County Jail and released to jail staff.
