Brownwood News – James Michael Helms, age 45, is locked up in the Brown County Jail on several sex crimes charges.  Helms fled from Brownwood to Maine but, through the efforts of Texas Rangers and Maine Police, was arrested back in April in Northport, Maine and extradited back to Brownwood this week.

According to Brown County Jail Records, Helms is charged with sexual assault, prohibited sexual conduct, possession of child pornography and continuous sexual abuse of a child.  Those four charges carry bonds totaling $335,000.
