Mildred Alice Steger, 91, passed away in Brownwood, Texas Friday, July 12, 2019.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, July 16th,
with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Mildred Alice (Denk) Steger was born July 22, 1927 in Bryan, Texas to Julius and Julia Denk.  Mildred went to high school and graduated from Bryan. Mildred married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Steger in August of 1947. Their union was blessed with two children, John and
Debbie. Mildred managed the school cafeteria and loved her job. She initially took it so that she could work and be off when the children were off but after the kids were grown she stayed because she loved the job and the other children. She enjoyed landscape photography, was active in the quilting club and in her later years she enjoyed going to the senior center to visit with friends and play games. Her passion in life was her grandchildren. She treasured time spent with them and other family.

Mildred is survived by her son, John and wife Debbie Steger of Wauchula, FL; daughter, Debbie Cole of Stephenville; grandchildren, Jason Cole of Ft. Worth, Ryan Cole of Stephenville, Alyssa and husband Nolan Neuhauser of Wauchula,Florida and Stephanie and husband Artemio
Hernandez of Ft. Meade Florida; great grandchildren, Marie, Laela, Jose, Silas, Artemio, RJ, Clark, Hudson, Callie.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue; Dallas, TX 75231-4596.
