Judy Jane Moore, 78

Judy Jane Moore, 78, of Brownwood, Texas passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 23, 2019.

Born July 15, 1940 to parents Robert “Bert” Moore and Florence Irene Shaw Moore, Judy was the Moore’s fourth of five children.  She attended school in Brownwood and played the violin, viola and cello in the Junior High and High School orchestra.  Graduating from BHS in 1958, Judy went on to attend Howard Payne College in 1958/59 and 1959/60.  In later 1960, she married Raymond Glenn McDonald, Sr. of Bangs.  The couple had two children, a son Raymond “Glenn” Jr. born on March 3, 1961 and a daughter, Penny Lin born on November 30, 1963.  The small family moved from the area in 1964 to Hale Center, Texas, located near Lubbock where he was in banking and she became a medical transcriptionst it Hi-Plains Hospital for 13 years.  In 1984, Judy moved back to her beloved Brownwood following a divorce.  She then began work as a clerical specialist at Girling Health Care, a home health agency founded by her older sister and brother-in-law, the late Bob and Betty Girling.  She enjoyed working closely with family and made many treasured friends who were co-workers.  Judy retired from Girling in 2006 and basked in being a lady of leisure.  She enjoyed decorating her home with family, re-designing it and re-decorating it again.

Ms. Moore is preceded in death by both parents, her two brothers, Robert Moore, Jr and Sam J Moore, her sister Bettie J. Girling, her son, Raymond “Glenn” McDonald, Jr.

She is survived by one sister, Sue Hunter of Brownwood, daughter Penny Sanders of Brownwood and four grandchildren; Marcus Sanders and wife Misty (Brownwood), Cassandra Sanders (Brownwood) Lacey “Jane” Sanders of Ridgeway, Colorado and Summer Sanders of Bangs, seven great grandchildren, Madison, Taylor Glenn, Railei, Jaylan, River, Millie Jane and Journey; as well as several treasured nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Davis-Morris Funeral Home at 3 PM on Friday, June 28 with family visitation an hour prior at 2 PM.  Marcus Sanders will be officiating.
