Brownwood News – Marjorie Lewis, author of the historical novel “When the Men Were Gone”, will discuss her book at 2:30 pm Thursday, June 27, in the meeting room of Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Hosted by the BRMC Senior Circle, Marjorie will also autograph copies of her book.  The novel is based on the true story of Tylene Wilson, a woman in the 1940’s who, in spite of extreme opposition, became a female football coach here in Brownwood.  She did so to keep her students from heading off to war.

Refreshments will also be served.
