Funeral services for Charles Ray “Charlie” Alexander, age 73, of Bangs, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 6, 2019 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Bangs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Heartland Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Charlie passed from this life on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at his home.

Charles Ray Alexander was born at home, the 7th child of Clyde and Lena (Tessman) Alexander.  To many friends he was known as “Spider.”  He attended Bangs schools.  Charlie worked in construction, offshore drilling, and alongside his brother Marion at Horne Plumbing.  In recent years he rode shotgun with his buddy John, the owner of Harper Towing.

Charlie enjoyed fishing with friends, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and watching old westerns-often quoting many infamous John Wayne lines.

He is survived by a son, Randy Alexander, a sister, Lee Davenport of Dallas, a brother, Marion and his wife Jeanette Alexander of DeSoto, a sister-in-law, Lenora Alexander of Bangs and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his sister, Ida Mae Poprick and three brothers, L.P. “Pete” Alexander, Clarence “Guy” Alexander and Clyde “C.B.” Alexander.

Condolences, memories and tributes can be offered to the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net.
