Brownwood News – Save the date on Saturday, April 20, for the 11th Annual Wendlee Broadcasting KXYL/ KQBZ Great Easter Egg Hunt from 9 a.m. to noon at Coggin Park in Brownwood.

The annual event has become a tradition and is the largest annual event in the community each year said Rex Tackett, owner of Wendlee Broadcasting.

“It has grown each year and it is always a very anticipated event,” Tackett said. “And everything there is free!”

Thousands of children are expected to attend to hunt for more than 25,000 Easter eggs and to enjoy all types of activities and prizes.

Brookshires Grocery is the title sponsor and has donated all of the candy for the annual event, which will be fun for the entire family. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos. There will be free pony rides, hot dogs, Dr. Pepper, police units, fire trucks, a bounce house and a car show by the Heartland Cruisers.

There will be three hunts – one for children Pre-K and under, another for Kindergarten through first grade and finally one for second and third graders. In addition, the ARC Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Association of Retarded Citizens, will be held at 12:30 p.m. so their participants can join in the fun!

Gold sponsors for the event include First Central Credit Union and Ranger College of Brown County; Silver Sponsors include The Hen House, Bangs Nursing and Rehabilitation, Sliger’s Market and Andy’s Pest Troopers. Bronze Sponsors include the Lehnis Railroad Museum, Ryan Construction, Action Physical Therapy, Jack-A-Dons at the Crazy Lemon, Matt Williams State Farm Insurance, Brownwood Decorating, Smile Doctors Braces, Sue’s Backyard and Followwell Property Group at Keller Williams.
