Erlinda Ramirez passed from this life on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 1:11 am at the Oak Ridge Manor Nursing Home in Brownwood.

Memorial Services will be Monday, April 15, 2019 at 10:00 am at Henderson Funeral Chapel in Santa Anna with arrangements under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

‘Linda’ was born and grew up initially in Santa Anna, Texas.  She attended school here until the family moved to Colorado in 1952.

After graduating high school she took classes and worked toward becoming a nurse.  As an LVN she worked in hospitals and nursing homes in Greeley, Colorado.  In 1963 she moved to Visalia, CA and joined her sister Alicia there while Linda continued her education in nursing at a college in Visalia.  A year later her son A. Michael Ramirez was born.  When he was in grade school they moved back to Colorado and Linda purchased a house in Greeley.  She worked there and in surrounding areas while she actively pursued her degree.  She graduated and obtained her license as a Registered Nurse in the late 70’s while attending part time, a college in Thornton, CO.

When her son was a teenager they made their way back to Texas and she bought and placed her double wide mobile home on family property in Santa Anna.  She marked the occasion by writing on the wet cement of her side walk the date (2-89).  It was here that she hosted many family reunions with her semi-wrapped around deck and gazebo as a stage where family members played their guitars and others sang.  She also hosted many Christmas parties for family, friends and co-workers.  Even a small wedding reception for her son.

Linda was always busy.  She knitted & Crotched many afghans and sewed quilts and once received a third place for her quilting.  Later she joined a china painting class.  Her home was filled with these items which she generously gave away to friends and family.  She also enjoyed gambling in Shreveport, Texas and Central City, Colorado.  She is greatly missed today.
