Brownwood News – Brown County Sheriff’s report released Tuesday, April 9, 2019. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Your name and mug shot then will be removed from this site in 3-5 business days.

Agency Assist Supplement Report – On 11/2/2019, Cpl. Taylor Fletcher, and Deputy Saydie Hammonds performed a traffic stop on a white cargo van in Bangs, Texas. The driver and passenger were identified. Officers observed several factors and recognized as possible indicators of illicit trafficking, and a consent search was performed. The 2 occupants were released after nothing was found on the search. On 11/8/2018, Deputy Toby Mathis observed the same van and driver travelling eastbound on US 67/377 in Brown County, and the information was forwarded to Comanche Police.

Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 Less Than 1 Gram – ARTHUR LOPEZ was arrested on an outstanding Texas Pardons and Parole warrant.  During a search of LOPEZ’S person incident to the warrant arrest a glass pipe, which contained a white powder residue, was located in his pants pocket.  A presumptive methamphetamine field test on the white powder residue tested positive for methamphetamine.  In addition to the Parole warrant, LOPEZ was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance <1 gram in a Drug Free Zone.

Criminal Trespass Warning – On April 6, 2019, at 10:57 AM, Deputy Jayson Bastardo, was dispatched to Hwy 279, Brownwood, TX, Big G Grocery. This was in regards to Criminal Trespass Warning. Upon arrival, the officer met with the assistant manager, Jacquie Moore. Moore said a suspect was inside the store disturbing the customers. Moore requested the suspect be served a Criminal Trespass Warning. A report was taken.

Assault Bodily Injury – On 04/06/2019, Deputy Mason Fabbiani was dispatched to the Brown County Jail. This was in regards to an assault between 2 inmates. A report was taken.

Assault Causes Injury – On 04/06/2019, Deputy Mason Fabbiani was dispatched to the Brown County Jail. This was in regards to an inmate fight. A report has been taken.

Evading Arrest or Detention in Vehicle – On Friday, April 5, 2019, Lt. Pete Bastardo attempted to conduct a traffic stop. This was in order to check welfare on BILLY GAY WADDLE, due to receiving a call on him being suicidal.  WADDLE led deputies on a vehicle pursuit, which ended at a private residence.  WADDLE kept deputies in a standoff for about 23 minutes before he exited his vehicle and was taken into custody.  

Criminal Mischief – On April 07, 2019, at 12:12 PM, Deputy Jayson Bastardo, was dispatched to W 67, Bangs, TX. This was in regards to an unwanted person. Upon arrival, I met with a complainant. The complainant said the suspect had slashed her mother’s tire to her vehicle and left prior to my arrival. A report was taken.

Criminal Mischief – On April 8, 2019, I, Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to CR 604 Brownwood, TX. This was for a report of criminal mischief. Information was gathered and report was made.
