Larry Dee Carter of Brownwood, TX, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the age of 77.

Larry was born in Brownwood, TX, on August 24, 1941, to Thomas Montgomery Carter and Charlcie (Garner) Carter.  He graduated high school and went to the Army, along with his twin brother Harry.  While stationed in several states across the country, Larry trained as an aviator and airplane mechanic.

After nine years of serving our country, Larry and Harry settled in Washington.  While in Washington, Larry met and married Jeraldine (Squires) Carter.  Their union was blessed with two daughters, Bibiana and Diana.  After living and working in Washington as a diesel mechanic for about 30 years, he moved back to Brownwood where he spent the remainder of his life with his beloved, Dovie Binion.  Their union was blessed with a son, Larry, Jr.  Larry and Dovie raised theirs and hers very happily together.

While residing in Brownwood, Larry was a diesel mechanic at Minserco Draglines.  He enjoyed his time off and kept busy by spending time with his family and doing the hobbies he loved, such as leatherwork, woodwork, fishing, lawnmower drag racing, and straight and dirt-track racing.  He was a member of the Brownwood Bass Club and the Heartland Cruisers.

Larry is survived by his love, Dovie Binion; sons Larry Carter, Jr., and wife Brittany of Brownwood, TX; William Binion and wife Danee of Lampasas, TX; Clovis Binion of Brownwood, TX; daughters Bibiana (Carter) Van Dyk and husband Joel of Enumclaw, WA; Diana (Carter) Moore and husband Kelly of Puyallup, WA; Angie (Binion) Potter and husband Shannon of Copperas Cove, TX; brothers John Carter and wife Elizabeth; Curtis Carter; and 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Harry Carter; brothers Paul Carter and Robert Carter.

A memorial service will be conducted by family for friends at a date to be determined.  Condolences and/or flowers may be sent to the family at 2405 Belle Plain, Brownwood, TX 76801.
