Brownwood News – The Brownwood District of the Texas Department of Transportation is pleased to invite utility representatives and other relevant stakeholders to attend the annual utility meeting along with two-and-a-half days of training regarding utility conflict management and the utility coordination processes.

[adrotate group=”8″]

The purpose of the event is to promote communication and networking between TxDOT and the utility industry, to provide information on future projects that may have utility conflicts, and the processes TxDOT uses to avoid, minimize, and accommodate.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 26 and 27th, and 8 a.m. till noon on the 28th at the Brownwood District Headquarters located at 2495 US 183 N., Brownwood, TX 76802.  Attendance is free and open to all utility industry professionals as well as paraprofessionals within the industry.

The first day will consist of utility conflict management training.  Dr. Cesar Quiroga, senior research engineer and manager of the San Antonio office of the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, will preside over this informational session.

The second and third day will consist of training regarding the foundational knowledge, concepts, and understanding of the TxDOT utility coordination process.  This course will be facilitated by staff of TxDOT Right Of Way Division’s Utility Portfolio Section.

Those with questions or who wish to attend are asked to contact District Utility Coordinator Rich Truitt, at 325-643-0420 or richey.truitt@txdot.gov.

TxDOT’s Brownwood District includes Brown, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Lampasas, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba, and Stephens counties.  The Yoakum, and Houston districts will also offer these courses at differing times in those locals.
