BrownwoodNews – The City of Early announced on social media Wednesday, they will have yet another new development coming soon. Mayor Robert Mangrum announced the latest new development for Early, Texas is the result of a proactive approach to developing a partnership between the City of Early and Sam Moore of Cross Development out of Carrollton, Texas.

Cross Development will bring to the citizens of Early, Texas their first every national branded dollar store. Cross Development has land at the intersection of F.M. 3100 also known as Salt Creek Hwy and Hwy 67/377 within the city limits of Early under contract. They will soon began the construction of a new Dollar General at that location.

Mayor Mangrum stated, “We are delighted with the news of this latest of many new developments. I know this will be a great asset to the city and our growing sales tax collection. It will also provide convenient and affordable shopping to help improve our citizens’ quality of life in Early, Texas.”

With developments with names such as Hobby Lobby, Burger King, Mattressville, and Xtreme Jump it may seem hard to get excited about a dollar store, but by having one it provides a close and convenient place for our citizens and the surrounding areas to shop for necessities. It also helps by continue to diversify our local economy and capture sales tax that leaves Early, Texas.

According to Dollar General News -For the 52-week fiscal year ending January 31, 2020 (“fiscal year 2019”), the Company plans to execute approximately 2,075 real estate projects, including 975 new store openings, 1,000 mature store remodels, and 100 store relocations. We look forward to having them as a neighborhood business partner and will keep you inform on the projected opening date when it becomes available.
