Socorro Flores

A Mass of Christian Burial for Socorro Flores, age 86, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Heartland Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  Mrs. Flores passed away on February 16, 2019 in Brownwood with her family by her side. 

Maria Socorro Constancia Flores was born on April 26, 1932 in Jiminez, Coah., Mexico.  She married Pablo Flores on January 12, 1963, and later moved to Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa and then to Brownwood, Texas. Socorro worked for many years for Louis Rich Turkey Plant, and Uncle B’s Bakery in Iowa, before retiring in Brownwood.   

Socorro enjoyed her children, grandkids, great grandkids, gardening and going for walks (with her grandchildren).

Socorro is survived by her children: Sergio A. Flores, J. Carlos Flores, Sandra Hegland, Mireya Flores, and Eduardo Flores.  Her brother:  Odon Constancia, and sister: Josefa Marin.  Grandchildren:  Claudia Flores, Adriana Flores, Sergio Flores Jr., Jose Carlos Flores Jr., Melissa Flores, Roberto Flores, Alan Hegland, Miguel Hegland, Kassandra Hegland, and Krystina Hegland, Kayla Flores, Sierra Flores, Carissa Flores, Moriah Flores, and Christian Flores.  Great Grandchildren Julian Amaya, Peyton Hegland, Mila Flores, and two that are on the way.  She is also survived by the spouses of her children.  Malena Flores, Maria Elena Flores, Craig Hegland, and Jody Flores. 

The family wishes to thank Dr, Lisa Fowler for all her love and dedication, Kindred Hospice for all the love and support during her final days, and Girling for all their support.
