EARLY POLICE REPORTS: February 15, 2019

Brownwood News – Early Police Department reports released Friday, February 15, 2019. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. On February 14th at approximately 730am Officer Andres Contreras stopped a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 900 block of Early Blvd for expired registration. Once Officer Contreras made contact with the vehicle, he could smell marijuana inside the vehicle. Officer Contreras removed the subjects from the vehicle to begin a search. When officers opened the driver’s door a handgun fell from inside the vehicle that the driver apparently placed between the door and seat. After searching further officers located some methamphetamines and marijuana in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Joshua Kevin Davis from Pasadena Texas is a convicted felon and was charged with Felon in possession of a firearm, Possession of controlled substance, in drug free zone, possession of marijuana in drug free zone, possession of drug paraphernalia and expired registration. The passenger, Victoria Elizabeth Bass also from Pasadena, Texas was arrested and charged with Possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On February 14th at approximately 4pm Early Police and Fire units were sent to an accident at CC Woodson and Early Blvd where an 18-wheeler had struck a pickup and trailer. Upon arrival it was determined there were no injuries. Corporal Michelle Sheedy began field sobriety test on the driver of the 18-wheeler. The driver, Charles Kirby Cabler III failed the field sobriety test and was taken to the Emergency Room for a blood test and then booked into the Brown County Jail. Charles Kirby Cabler III was charged with DWI with open container.
