BROWN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT: February 12, 2019

BrownwoodNews – Brown County Sheriff’s report released Tuesday, February 12, 2019. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Your name and mug shot then will be removed from this site in 3-5 business days.

On Friday, February 8, 2019, I, Deputy Jimmy Cornelius, was assigned a call for service at the Law Enforcement Center. The complainant,  agreed to sell a car to  Antonio Zapata.  Zapata made a down payment and one additional payment toward the agreed price of the car.  Zapata is no longer making payments and will not return the car.

On February 8, 2019, at approximately 9:00 P.M., Deputy Jose Rodriguez, was dispatched to handle a call for theft by phone. A report was made for Theft of Property $2,500 < $30K, State Jail Felony.

On February 09, 2019, at 09:51 A.M., Deputy Jayson Bastardo, was dispatched to CR 180 in Brownwood, TX. This was in regards to an animal complaint. Upon arrival,Bastardo met with the victim.  He stated he had shot his neighbor’s dog, because he believed the dog was going to kill his goats. A report was taken.

On February 9, 2019, Deputy Toby Mathis, while patrolling observed a stop sign, which appeared to have been struck. The sign was at the intersection of CR 551/ HWY 279, Brownwood, TX. Photos were taken and a report was made.

On February 12, 2019, deputies were dispatched to an address on Shawnee Drive. This was in regards to a domestic assault with a gun involved. The victim was at his ex-girlfriends’ house when he got into a verbal altercations with other family members. It was stated the suspect drew a pistol and pointed it at the victim. It has not been confirmed the gun was involved, and there were no injuries on either side. A report has been taken.

On February 12, 2019, deputies were dispatched to an address on West Main Blvd. This was in regards to several subjects trying to break into a residence. A witness stated he saw several Hispanic males trying to break into his daughters travel trailer, located directly behind his residence. The subjects took off in a vehicle before deputies arrived on scene. A report was taken.
