Emma Sue Guyer Cox

Emma Sue Guyer Cox of Coleman, Texas at the age of 88 years passed from this life on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10:05 pm at the Coleman County Medical Center.

Services will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at Clear Creek Cemetery with Rev. David McLean officiating.  Interment will follow with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

Emma was born August 5, 1930 in Bangs, Texas to John M. and Stella Storey Cox.  She was raised in Bangs graduating from Bangs High School.  She continued her education at Daniel Baker College, Texas Tech University and graduated from East Texas University.  On September 15, 1948 Emma married William Floyd Cox and he preceded her in death in 2017.

Emma lived in Seminole and Garland before returning to Bangs.  She was a member of the Methodist Church and a retired first grade elementary school teacher.

She is survived by her three sons, Russell & wife Neva Cox of Weatherford, Texas, Morris & wife Carmen Cox of Coleman, Texas, Dwight & wife Robyn Cox of Austin, Texas. Her sisters – Audrey Daily of Georgetown, Texas, Ruth Guyer of Arlington, Texas and, Earlene & husband Raymond McFarland of Arlington, Texas. Her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Emma was preceded in death by her daughter Olivia Susan Morrow in 2007, and her sister Billie Winchester in 2015.
