Wassa Lee (Wilson) Tucker

Wassa Lee (Wilson) Tucker went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 25, 2019.

A visitation will be held at Heartland Funeral Home on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 5-7 PM.  A funeral service will be held at Heartland Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Bill Slaymaker officiating and interment following at Rocky Creek Cemetery.

Wassa was born in DeLeon, Texas on June 10, 1930 to Leonard & Velma Wilson.  She married Ralph Tucker, July 9, 1946 in Hillsboro, TX and their union was blessed with eight children.  They moved to Brownwood in 1963.  Ralph and Wassa owned and operated the Dairy Queen and the Dairy T Drive in.  She also worked for JRB Supermarket, Circle K convenience store and BISD in the cafeteria.  Wassa always put family first.  She loved special family time and especially at the holidays.  Her cornbread dressing was the best ever and her special Christmas candy.  She had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved going to their school functions and sporting events.

Wassa is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Burleson of Early; sons, Bobby and wife JoAnne Tucker of Royse City, Cliff and wife Susie Tucker & Wayne Tucker of Waco, Vernon Tucker of Kirbyville, TX; brother, Larry and wife Lynn Wilson of Jonesboro, GA; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews & a host of friends.

Wassa was preceded in death by 3 sons, Donald, Buster & Ken Tucker, Her parents, 2 brothers, Alvie & J.W. Wilson, grandson Josh Tucker & a son-in-law, Jack Burleson.
