Joaquin Luna Pesina Jr., 71, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019.

Joaquin was born to Joaquin Sr. and Libraba Pesina in Crystal City, TX.  He attended Fly school in Crystal City before moving to Brownwood.  He worked hard as a seasonal worker, was a painter at Cathey’s enterprise but everybody knew him for his talents as a mechanic.  He married his beloved Gloria Ochoa on May 4th, 1966 and their union was blessed with ten children.  Joaquin enjoyed music and playing guitars with family and friends.  He enjoyed cars and was an avid baseball fan.  Joaquin left behind a legacy in his children and family.

Joaquin is survived by his beloved wife of almost 53 years, Gloria Ochoa Pesina; sons, Joaquin and wife Janie Pesina III, Jose and wife Sandra Pesina Sr., Josue Jaime Pesina, John Vidal Pesina; daughters, Gilda and husband Felix Guitierrez, Eveliza and husband David Buttler, Michelle and husband Juan Gonzalez, Jessica and husband James Arellano, Joeleliza and husband Alex Arellano, Joaquina and husband Chris Salamasina, Jennifer and husband Carlos Talamentez; brothers, Gregorio Pesina, Jesus Pesina, Jose and wife Gloria Pesina, Raymond and wife Cynthia Pesina; sisters, Martha Ballasteros, Juanita and husband Martin Castaneda; 31 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and several loved nieces, nephews & friends.

Joaquin was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Guadalupe SanMiguel; brothers Eriberto and Felipe Pesina, sister-in-law, Ofelia Pesina; nephew, Ernest Pesina & niece, Erica Pesina.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6 – 7 PM with a rosary service beginning at 7 at Heartland Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Heartland Funeral Chapel, 303 Early Blvd., Early, TX 76802 with Deacon John Specht officiating.

Flowers can be sent to Heartland Funeral Home prior to service.
