Billy J. “Doak” Weathermon, 70, of Brownwood went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 with Carolyn and Alicia by his side.  Heaven rejoices that another son has come home.  A private family graveside service was held on December 14, 2018 under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Doak was born on December 1, 1948 to Billy Ray and Thelma Jean Bullard Weathermon.  He was a lifelong resident of Brownwood.  He married his love, Carolyn Stoebner, in 1994.  Doak was the owner and operator of Modern Pest Control, Modern House Leveling and Modern Paving Contractors.  He enjoyed working and being around the public.  He spent his off time fishing and going to garage/estate sales.  Always looking for a bargain.  Doak had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.  He loved joking around with his friends and making people laugh.  One friend said that Doak’s name should be “Maytag, cause he was such an agitator”. After retirement, Doak spent a lot of time in the Red Wagon Restaurant talking and visiting with other patrons and friends.  He considered them his second family.

Those left to cherish Doak’s memory are his beloved wife, Carolyn of 24 years, of Brownwood; 3 daughters, Alicia and husband Leslie Denson of Early, Barbara and husband Mark Baker of San Angelo, and Laura Trejo of San Antonio; 1 son, Michael and wife Cyndi of San Antonio; 2 brothers, Rodney and wife Kouri of Avinger and Ryan and wife Cynthia of Brownwood; 1 sister, Linda Pickell of Longview area and a sister in law, Carrol Weathermon of Brownwood; 8 grandchildren, James and Kassidi Holland, Bryce Denson, Charles Trejo Jr., Cody Riojas, Colt Baker, Mason and Hailey Rae Weathermon; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Doak was preceded in death by his parents and one half brother, Jack Duane Weathermon.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Kindred Hospice for their care and support of Doak during his last days, especially to May Jones who was a bright light and a joy to him and to Randel Dickey, whose presence and help was a great blessing to Doak.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that friends make a donation to a charity of their choice.  Online condolences can be left at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
