Brownwood News – Brownwood Police Department reports released Monday, December 10, 2018. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Tuesday, December 4,

  • Brownwood Police responded to a report of a reckless driver in the area of 100 E Commerce Street. A male subject was identified and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated – Open Container.

Friday, December 7

  • At approximately 9:30 a.m. a Brownwood Police Officer met with complainant at the LEC in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. This call led to a report being made in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle with a theft of a 14K yellow gold ring with a lions head valued at $525. With no suspects.
  • Salome Stewart was bitten by a stray cat at the intersection of Hwy. 67 and Main Street in Brownwood Texas.
  • At 9:14 p.m. Brownwood PD Officers were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce (Wal-Mart) in reference to theft. This call led to the arrest of a male subject for Theft of Property $100-$750, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Saturday, December 8

  • Officers responded to the 1500 Blk. of Terrace Dr., Brownwood, Texas for a Burglary call. Upon arrival, an investigation was initiated and an adult male and an adult female were subsequently arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
  • At approximately 6:51 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a north Brownwood business regarding a theft. Upon arrival an investigation and a report were completed.

Sunday, December 9

  • At 4:00 a.m. Officers were called to the 200 Blk. of Early Blvd in reference to a DUI. An assault family violence report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.
  • At 11:04 a.m. Peggy Jones went to Brownwood Regional Medical Center after her male chihuahua bit her on the right hand.
  • At approximately 10:57 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of Avenue A for a possible burglary where the owner of the vacant home stated that some handheld power tools were taken. The investigation is still ongoing.
  • An officer was dispatched to 401 w Commerce, Walmart, for theft. Prior to arrival the suspect had left the scene. All property was recovered by Walmart loss prevention staff. The investigation is still ongoing.
  • At approximately 7:21 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a north Brownwood business in reference to theft. A report was generated at the request of the complainant.

Monday, December 10

  • At approximately 2:07 a.m. Brownwood PD Officers were dispatched to 510 Edwards in reference to a domestic disturbance. A report for Class C Family Violence was taken.
