Dempsey Dovie Crume

Dempsey Dovie Crume, 94, passed away on November 17, 2018.

Dempsey was born in Holder, TX to Loyd and Sally Fortner in December 1923.  She graduated High School in the Williams community and married Marshall Crume in 1950. Theirs was a union that would last for 53 years and bless them with two boys.  Dempsey worked alongside Marshall farming and ranching all the days of her life. She was still active on the ranch driving hay trailers and tending to cattle just two months ago.  She was a homemaker who cared for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Dempsey was a quick witted woman who loved to cook, watch the Dallas Cowboys play, and enjoyed dancing & seniors.

Dempsey is survived by her sons, Roger and wife Deborah Crume, Joe and wife Lorie Crume both of May, TX; Grandchildren, Shelby and husband Bryan Branham, Clyde TX, Jared and wife Kayla Crume of Weatherford, TX, Amber Crume, of May TX; Great Grandchildren, Justin, Parker, Korbin & Kyndal and several nieces, nephews & friends.

Dempsey was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, George Marshall Crume, her parents and 6 brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held from 6-7 PM, Friday November 23, 2018 at the Heartland Funeral Home and A funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Heartland Funeral Chapel with interment following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in May, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the May First Baptist Church, 18955 Cunningham St, May, TX 76857.
