On Saturday the 24th, from 10 a.m. until 4 that afternoon, the s Bringing Hope Thrift Store will be hosting the Bringing Hope – Small Business Saturday. According the the store’s Facebook page, Small Business Saturday is “a day dedicated to supporting small business nationwide and encouraging consumers to spend their money locally, at places that support their community.”

Amanda Sharp, owner and operator of Bringing Hope Thrift Store says she does what she does in order to help clothe and provide for the needy in Brownwood. The Saturday event is a big opportunity to keep the store operational through the slow winter months.

“We do not receive grant money or assistance in any way so we are hoping that sales on Small Business Saturday can help sustain the business through the winter.” The business operates “to help the people of central Texas to be able to afford the necessities that they need for day to day living at affordable prices.”

Sharp says this is a family business, and her kids have gotten lessons in more than economics. “I am beyond blessed that my family gets to serve together in such a way. My children literally get to see the Lord work every single day in our community. God is so good to us and we are grateful to be open and to do His work. We are thankful to the people in our community and we look forward to seeing everyone come out and celebrate with us.”

Bringing Hope Thrift Store is located at 720 W Commerce, and are open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m, except for between 3 to 4 when they are “picking up kids from school”. They can be contacted through their website or Facebook page.
