Mark Alan Ward

Mark Alan Ward, 62, of Early, TX departed to be with the Lord on October 8, 2018.

Mark was born in Bell, CA to Norman and Carol Ward.  He was a longtime resident of Early and graduated from Early High School.  After graduating from Early High School, Mark went into the Navy and served his country before returning home and marrying Sandra Matacotta in Brownwood on November 10, 1978.  Their union was blessed with 4 children.  Mark co-owned Brownwood Drywall where he spent many years building local homes and businesses.  His wife and children have fond memories of working with their dad over the years. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching western movies and he was an avid reader.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Ward; sons, Dominic Ward, Markus and wife Beckie Ward of Oklahoma City, OK, Kyle and wife Audrey Ward of Brownwood; daughter, Alexa and husband Jay Maddox of Early, TX and his favorite nephew, Josh Matacotta; brothers, Keith Ward, Daryl Ward; and sister, Becky Swanner; 9 grandchildren, Jaydan, Aidan, Madelyn, Megan, Kairi, Conner, Lily, Avery and Casey; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Carol Ward.

A Visitation has been planned 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Heartland Funeral Home.  The Funeral service will be at the Salt Creek Baptist Church on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Interment to follow at Rock Church Cemetery, Blanket Texas.
