Brownwood News – The Lyric Theatre is hosting a Mother-Son movie night and costume contest this Saturday night, featuring the Disney Pixar hit “Coco”.

Prizes will be awarded to the best costumes, attendees will receive goodie bags filled with treats, and each Mother and Son will receive a keepsake photo to remember the night.

Tickets are $20 per couple, and are available on the Lyrics website. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Brown County Rainbow Room, which assists children in the CPS system. New clothing, shoes, pajamas, and other items are all available through the Rainbow Room, which is funded largely through donations.

The room is operated by the Child Welfare Board, and supplies Child Protective Services workers with needed supplies. The board is comprised of volunteers who are dedicated to the needs of children in Brown county.

According to the Board’s Facebook page, the Welfare board is designed “to advocate for the abused and neglected children of Brown County through the networking of community resources, education of the community, supporting the local Child Protective Services program by providing specialized training for area professionals and coordinating public and private funds to meet those needs; therefore, enhancing the lives of children.”

Additional tickets can be purchased for $5 by calling the Lyric box office at 325-998-2801, tickets for each child in attendance will be required to enter the event.
