Brownwood Police Arrestee Found to Have Hidden Drugs in Undergarments

Brownwood News – Brownwood Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s reports released Tuesday, September 4, 2018. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. According to a Brownwood Police report, while on patrol on September 1st, at approximately 9:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to 400 block of West Commerce in reference to a theft. The suspect failed to identify while lawfully detained by giving officers a false name and identifying information. After a thorough investigation, officers identified the suspect as 53 year old Kelly Shawn Knight of Goldthwaite. Knight was placed under arrest for Failure to Identify, Theft more than $100 less than $750, and Fraudulent Destruction, Removal, or Concealment of Writing.

After Knight was transported to the Brown County Jail, she was found with multiple controlled substances hidden within her undergarments and a glass pipe with bulb commonly used for smoking methamphetamines. Knight was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Prohibited Substances and Items in Correctional Facility.

Friday, August 31st

  • 12:04 p.m. Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a theft.
  • 2:25 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 1900 block of Brady Avenue regarding a fight.
  • 4:47 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of West Commerce regarding stolen property.
  • 10:24 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a south side apartment complex in reference to a disturbance.

Saturday, September 1st

  • 1:28 a.m. Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop near the 1700 block of 7th Street. During the course of this stop, officers arrested a female suspect for driving while license invalid.
  • 8:00 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to Norwood and Vine Street regarding a hit and run. There was some damage to a fire hydrant listed in the report.
  • 2:19 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood address in reference to a theft.
  • 3:12 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of East Commerce regarding a suspicious person.
  • 6:03 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of West Commerce regarding a domestic disturbance.

Sunday, September 2nd

  • 1:25 a.m. Brownwood Police conducted a narcotics investigation in the 1100 block of Avenue H. An adult female was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, less than Two Ounces.
  • 2:31 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a north Brownwood business in reference to a theft.
  • 3:56 p.m. Brownwood Police received a report of animal cruelty in the 1600 block of Avenue E.

Monday, September 3rd

  • 12:56 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of 8th Street in regards to a theft of a motor vehicle.
  • 1:17 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a north Brownwood business regarding a theft.
