Law Enforcement Reports: August 27, 2018

Brownwood News – Brownwood Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s reports released Monday, August 27, 2018. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Your name and mug shot then will be removed from this site in 3-5 business days.

Friday, August 24th

  • 10:10 a.m. Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant who stated their bank card may have been “skimmed” in Brownwood. The person provided several locations where the incident may have occurred. The locations were checked for external skimmers and none were found. Employees of the stores were notified so they could check the machines if necessary.
  • 11:31 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to an address on Indian Creak Drive regarding an assault that had occurred earlier in the week.
  • 3:19 p.m. Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a report of forgery.
  • 4:26 p.m. Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a theft.
  • 5:50 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of W. Commerce in reference to a motor vehicle accident. The vehicle that caused the accident had fled the scene and was later located, according to police reports. The driver of the vehicle, 38 year old Nirav Patel, of Lubbock, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated – 3rd or more Offense, and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
  • 5:57 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding an assault.

Saturday, August 25th

  • 7:31 a.m. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Bastardo was dispatched to CR 180 in regards to a welfare check. The caller advised there was a black truck parked in the middle of the roadway. The deputy contacted the driver of the truck, identified as Caghen Seider. After further investigation, Seider was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana (6.1 grams).

Sunday, August 26th

  • 12:44 a.m. Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding an assault.
  • 10:30 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 2300 block of Temple in reference to an assault.
  • 7:40 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive in reference to a theft.
