David Newman Banks

David Newman Banks, age 66, of Bangs passed away peacefully at home with his wife and children at his side on Saturday, August 18, 2018. 

Graveside Services with full Military Honors for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Clear Creek Cemetery with Keagan Hall officiating. Visitation will be held prior to graveside services from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.  Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

David was born to Leland and Madeline (Newman) Banks on March 3, 1952, in Brownwood, Texas. He graduated from Rochelle High School. David served his country with United States Army from June 29, 1978 till he retired on July 31, 1994. After the Army, David worked for and retired from the City of Brownwood. 

David married Arlene (Lucas) Banks on July 4, 1998. David was a strong Christian, kind and gentle man. He dearly loved his family and life. 

David is survived by his wife of 20 years, Arlene Banks of Bangs; 3 children, David Banks II of Brownwood, Larry Bishop of Nixon, Robin Morris and her significant other Ken Brixey of Bangs; 4 grandchildren, Noah Banks, Peyton Bishop, Shelbey and Logan Morris; sister, Angela Ham and husband CT of Blanket; and 2 brothers, Lynn Banks and wife Sharon of Nederland, John Banks and wife Sandy of Owens. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Madeline Banks; brother, William “Bill” Banks; sister-in-law, Mildred Banks; niece, Delores Beene; nephew, Frankie Banks; and previous wife, Rosalie Banks. 

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Veteran’s Administration. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
