Florence Swann

A visitation for Florence Swann, age 91, of Brownwood, will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 Sunday afternoon, August 12, 2018 at Heartland Funeral Home.  A private family interment will follow.

Mrs. Swann passed from this life on Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Brownwood.

Florence Juaneva Gunter was born on January 4, 1927, in Atlanta, Georgia to John Silvey and Beulah (Davis) Gunter.  She married Hubert Grady Swann, Sr. on August 5, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Florence moved to Brownwood from Atlanta in 1994 and was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ.

Florence is survived by her son, John Swann and wife Martina of Weatherford and daughter-in-law, Christy Swann of Brownwood; three grandchildren, Michele Keck and husband John of Wilsonville, Oregon, Karina Daniel and husband Rob of Brownwood and Tim Swann of Brownwood; four great-grandchildren, Simone Morris and husband Cade, Jackson Daniel, Anna Daniel and Nadia Alvarado and two great-great-grandchildren, Elliott and Marlee Morris.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Hubert Swann, Sr., a daughter, Anna Swann, a son Hubert Swann, Jr., a grandson, Zach Swann and two siblings, Faye Hicks and John Gunter.

The family requests memorials be made to either the Austin Avenue Church of Christ Missions Committee or Youth Group, 1020 Austin Ave., Brownwood, 76801.
