Fred Davis Spencer III, age 62, of Brownwood was peacefully welcomed in glory to the Kingdom of God on Sunday, July 8th, 2018.

Graveside Services for Fred will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Greenleaf Cemetery with his son, Fred Spencer IV officiating. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Fred “Dave” was born to Dr. Fred Davis, Jr. and Dorothy Nell (Griffin) Spencer on November 22, 1955, in Brownwood.

Blessed with conservative roots and a strong, thoughtful and positive worldview, Fred lived as a successful small-business entrepreneur, accomplished photographer and gentle father.

Eagle Scout from Brownwood Troop 14 and brother alumnus of Lambda Chi Alpha at UT Austin, “Dave” passionately understood the essential impact of honesty, loyalty and integrity in our daily lives. Through passionate leadership and constant rigor, he practiced the nurturing value of eternal friendship and selfless community building.

Fred is survived by his children, Nancy Leigh and Fred IV; his sisters, Pamela and Penny; his beloved companion, “Action” Jackson; and a rich legacy of dear friends.

“Dave” was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Fred Davis Spencer, Jr. and Dorothy Nell Spencer; and his lifelong childhood friend, Stanley Walker Jr.

Flowers can be delivered to ASAP Creative Arts at 220 N. Main Ave. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
