Joe Joyner

Donald Joe Joyner, age 79, passed away on July 2, 2018 at his residence in Brownwood, Texas.  He was born on June 19, 1939 in Bangs, Texas to T.J. Joyner and Wilma Wheat.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, T.J. Joyner, his step father, Claud Wheat, his mother, Wilma Wheat as well as his brother, Jerry Joyner.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Joyner and their three children, daughter, Jayme St. Ama and husband, Darrin, of Brownwood, Texas, son, Joe Joyner of Zephyr, Texas, and daughter, Leonda Harrell and husband, Tommy, of Ballinger, Texas, 17 grandchildren, Kynzi Atchley and husband, Bob, Sydni Rogers and husband, Dakota, Wytni Thompson and fiancé, Payton Hamrick, Jessica, Dakota and Sam St. Ama, Jaidan, Jarrah, Jensyn, Maddie and Megan Joyner, Dustin McDaniel, Samantha, Easton, Emylee, Olyee and Alyee Harrell.  He had three great grandchildren, Adysn and Greysn Atchley and Charlynn Davidson.  He is also survived by a step-brother, Jack Wheat.

Joe retired from GTE after 30 years of service and was employed part time by O’Reilly Auto Parts for fourteen years up until a month before his passing.  He loved his family and enjoyed attending all events his grandchildren were involved in, rarely missing anything.  He also enjoyed fishing and raising his pigeons and chickens.

Funeral services for Joe Joyner will held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Heartland Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Zephyr Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
