Aidyn Johnston passed away in his parents arms on June 17th, 2018.

At three months old Aidyn spent a month in the hospital due to RSV. At seven months he was diagnosed with infantile spasms, an epileptic disorder that caused cognitive damages. At four years old he was diagnosed with nephronophthisis, a type of medullary kidney disease. In January 2017 he underwent open heart surgery which led to a month and a half stay in Texas Children’s hospital and 6 weeks of dialysis. Due to all of his complications, he was not a valid transplant candidate. Since then his health has slowly declined.

A few weeks ago, Aidyn got stomach flu and walking pneumonia. Unfortunately his body was no longer able to battle these sicknesses as he was already tired from fighting for so long.

That being said, Aidyn was the strongest, happiest little guy you could ever meet. He was always smiling and brought light to all who was in his life. Aidyn didn’t like to wear shoes. He loved getting into everything he wasn’t supposed to. Aidyn enjoyed playing with his cousins, puppies, watching cartoons, and going to school. He loved his teachers at Woodland Heights so much.

Aidyn is survived by his parents, Joshua & Khrystian Lewis, his sister Anaya Johnston, his brother Theodore Lewis, his grandparents Rockey & Trina Whinery, Richard and Tommie Johnston, Darryl & Candace Lewis, his great grandparents David & Linda Kincaid, James & Linda Bullock, great grandmother, Lois Johnston, his Aunt Amanda Whinery, his Uncle Derus Whinery, his Uncle Demarcus Whinery, Uncle and Aunt Joshua & Deanna Johnston, & Uncle David Johnston. He is also survived by his cousins.

He was preceded in death his Papa Jesse Mills Sr, Great Grandfather and Grandmother Ruby & Wanda Miller, Great Grandfather Billy Jack Johnston and Uncle Rockey Whinery V.

We’d like to thank the nurses and people at Kinderhearts and Solaris Hospice for taking such amazing care of our Aidy boy. We know that each of you loved him so much and we were truly blessed to have you in our home, Andrew & Kendra Putman, Kasie Patterson, Alicia Gordon, Angela Dawn Clawson, Christin Lykes, & Manuel Rodriguez.

The family would like to thank Davis-Morris Funeral home for taking care of his arrangements.  His memorial service will be Thursday June 21st at Abundant Life Church at 5pm. Floral tributes should be sent to the funeral home.  If you feel led to you may make donations to Corinne T Smith Animal Shelter in Aidyn’s name in lieu of flowers.

Online memorials can be made at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com
