Sylvia Maria Arriaga

Memorial services for Sylvia Maria Arriaga, age 64, of Brownwood will be held at 10 AM Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Sunday with a Rosary at 7 at the funeral home.  Mrs. Arriaga passed away Friday, June 1, 2018.

Sylvia was born in Houston on October 4, 1953 to Jose and Adela Martinez.  She attended school in Brownwood until 1966, then moved to California where she graduated from Watsonville High School.  She moved back to Brownwood in 1992 where she had numerous jobs including Brownwood Television Cable and doctor’s offices.  Sylvia loved her family, daughters and grandchildren.  She enjoyed dancing and was kind, caring and compassionate, always with a smile on her face.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jose Angel Arriaga of Brownwood; children Monique Sandoval and Leah Yabut; stepchildren, Leticia Arriaga and Jesse Arriaga; grandchildren, Liam, Ya’Mayah, Bella, Sabestin, Faith, Jaxon and step granddaughter, Ashley Arriaga; siblings, Eva Canales of Watsonville, CA, Vera and Phil Sanchez of Watsonville, CA, Homer and Stella Martinez of Freedom, CA, Charles and Vera Martinez of Freedom, CA, Alma and Ken Brown of Sedona, AZ, Diane and tony Franciotti of Austin, Biolanda and Ben Villapando of Brownwood and Beatriz Perez of Capitola, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Adela Martinez and three brothers, Joe, Henry and Eliazar Martinez.
