June’s First Thursday Exhibit will feature “someone a cut above the rest.” Local artist Robert Stacks will have his collection of Scrolled Wood Art on display. Stacks has been creating pictures in wood for over 25 years with a scroll saw. He’s enjoyed working with wood since his days in High School wood shop.

The Muse & Merlot selection for the month of June will be “Wheat Field with Cypresses at the Haute Galline,” by Vincent Van Gogh.

The session will be led by local artist Tasha Carter on Friday, June 8th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Art Center. Seats are $25 a person for the first 20 people and $30 for every ticket sold after that. Seating limited to 30 people (No Holds). All participants will be supplied with the needed items to create their own 16×20 masterpiece.

For the June Demonstration, Tasha Carter will reveal her technique with Clay Whistles. The demonstration will be held on Saturday, June 9th, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Brownwood Art Center. There is no cost to attend the demonstration and the community is welcome to attend to learn more about the unique artistic elements involved with this creation process.

Though school is out for the summer, learning opportunities continue at the Art Center with several classes for all ages offered. Brownwood Art Association member Claudette West will be teaching weekly classes and workshops.

Children’s Summer Art Camps will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on the following dates: June 26,27,28 – and July 24,25,26 – and August 14,15,16th.
