Early High School Announces 2018 Valedictorian and Salutatorian: Lacie Mason and Jaden Satterlee

Brownwood News – Early High School recently announced the Valedictorian and Salutatorian graduating students for the 2017-18 school year. Lacie Brianne Mason is honored as the class Valedictorian and Jaden Maria Satterlee is honored as the class Salutatorian.

Lacie Brianne Mason, daughter of Adam and Lindy Mason, has been named the 2017-18 Valedictorian of Early High School.  During her time at Early High School, Bri has been involved in volleyball, basketball, and track.  Other extra-curricular activities include One Act Play, Debate, UIL Mathematics, and Literary Criticism.

Bri is a member of National Honor Society and serves as Vice-President of the organization.   Additionally, Bri has been actively involved with Student Council, serving as the Treasure her junior year.  Honors and awards include:  Outstanding Student in AP English III, Advanced Biology, and BIM.  As a member of the Future Problem Solving team, Bri advanced to State in 2016, 2017, and 2018, earning a 5th place finish in 2017.  Bri’s Literary Criticism Team placed first at district in 2017 and 2018, with Bri taking first place honors as an individual in 2018.

Bri is very involved in the community and volunteers her time in a variety of ways.  Her efforts include serving her church as a small group leader, volunteering at local nursing homes, volunteering with NHS, and ringing the bells for Good Samaritan.

Upon graduation, Bri plans to attend Texas A&M University where she will major in general engineering.  

Jaden Maria Satterlee has been named Early High School’s Salutatorian for 2017-18.  Jaden is the daughter of Brian and Stella Satterlee.  While at Early High School, Jaden has been an active member of the cross country and tennis teams, National Honor Society, the Future Problem Solving team, and UIL.  

Jaden’s academic honors and awards include being named Outstanding Student for Advanced Algebra I, Advanced English I, Advanced World Geography, Advanced Algebra II, and Advanced Chemistry.  Jaden was also a member of the UIL Literary Criticism team which placed first her junior and senior years.  Additionally, she was a member of the Future Problem Solving team that placed fifth in the state her junior year.

As a member of the tennis team, Jaden qualified for the regional tournament every year, earning two trips to the state tournament.  For her outstanding efforts in tennis, Jaden earned Early High School MVP honors her sophomore, junior, and senior years.  Additionally, she qualified twice for the regional cross country meet.  

Jaden is actively involved in the community and volunteers her time by helping with Vacation Bible School, National Honor Society activities, and the Early Middle School tennis program.  Jaden has also volunteered at Brownwood Regional Medical Center, CARE Nursing Home, and Good Samaritan Ministries. 

Jaden’s future plans include attending Texas A&M University where she will pursue an engineering degree with a minor in English.
