Shane went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2018.

Valton Shane Sudderth was born on January 29, 1973 to Valton and Nancy Sudderth. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brownwood and also a Senior Demolay and member of Masonic Lodge #279 of Brownwood. During the summers in his youth he enjoyed his time as a camper at Camp Longhorn on Inks Lake in Burnet, Texas. From an early age Shane loved playing the sport of baseball. He played Little League baseball coached by his dad and was a team member of a select baseball team in the Dallas Ft. Worth area.  He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1991 where he excelled in both academics and athletics. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the Brownwood High School baseball team. He attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a B.S. in Business from Tarleton State University. After graduating from college, he moved to Austin where he worked for Golfsmith. Shane returned to Brownwood to work in the family businesses.

Shane was a skilled golfer and enjoyed making golf clubs. Shane’s passion for golf began in his youth when he won many tournaments and continued throughout his adult life. He took pleasure in watching all sports especially when his nephews were playing. He was fond of all genres of music and movies.

He was a kind, caring, friend to many. Shane truly exemplified God’s word to “love one another and love your neighbor as yourself.”

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Curtis Sudderth and Lou Jane Sudderth Graves; his maternal grandparents, Harlie and Bessie Courtright.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Valton and Nancy Sudderth of Brownwood; his sister and her husband, Vicki and Larry Templin of Belton; his sister and her husband, Melissa and Tim Sands of Houston; his nephew and his wife, Dustin and Roxane Templin of Port Neches; his nephew, Spencer Templin of Chicago, Illinois; his nephews, Connor, Cooper, Creagon, and Cullen Sands of Houston, and his great niece, Jensyn Templin of Port Neches.
