“We are excited about the upcoming services the Teen Volunteers will provide at BRMC,” read a recent release from Jo Ann Goodwin, Chairman-Teen Volunteers. “The Goal of the Teen Volunteer program is to provide an opportunity for the teens to give back to the community and make them feel that they have made a difference in our hospital.”

Interested teens are asked to complete the application and return it with a Reference Letter by May 4th at 5 p.m. to the BRMC Gift Shop. If accepted, the teen and a parent must be able to come to the hospital Tuesday, May 15th, from 4-6 p.m. for a drug screen and TB test, then again on Thursday, May 17th, from from 4-6 p.m., to have the TB test read. Applicants are asked to bring their immunization record.

If chosen and results of tests are favorable, teens will need to make plans to attend Orientation for Teen Volunteers May 25th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and again on Friday, June 8th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for orientation. First time volunteers will have a second TB test on June 8th and will need to return on Monday, June 11th, to have read.

There will be a Jr Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at Section Hand Restaurant on Thursday, August 9th, at 11:30 a.m.
