Kids Fishing Tournament to be held April 21st at Lake Brownwood

Brownwood News – The Lake Brownwood Community Development Council is hosting a Kids Fishing Tournament on Saturday, April 21st, at Flat Rock Park, located at 332 Flat Rock Road in the Lake Brownwood area.

Sign in will begin at 8 a.m. with weigh-in to be held at 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at noon, and participants must be present to win.

All children must be in one of these groups: 4 years and under, 5-8 years, and 9-12 years. Each must be accompanied by an adult 18 yrs or over

Cost is $15 per child and includes rod and reel ($15 value) to keep, tackle, worm bait, hot dogs, bottled water/Dr. Pepper

Participants may use their own fishing poles and bait. They may not fish in places other than Flat Rock Park. The fish must be caught during the event from 8 to 11 a.m. at weigh-in time.

There will be first, second and third prizes in each of the three age groups for the biggest fish. The tournament will use Certified Scales from Lake Brownwood Park Rangers.

This event is sponsored by Visit Early Texas, Bishop Distributing, Lake Brownwood State Park, Flanmbeau Tackle, Pure Fishing, Pecan Valley Kiwanis, Brownwood Kiwanis, and the Early Key Club.
